Ray was a Navy Petty Officer aboard Michelson, ca. mid-1966 to mid-1967, and aboard Bowditch ca. Nov, 1967- Dec, 1968. He was a civilian technical representative for General Instruments (SASS) aboard Michelson ca. July 1970 to mid-1973.
